“Best Banquet”

“Best Banquet ever!” That’s what many people are saying about our October 17 banquet with Jonathan Evans.

The Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom was filled with over 450 friends and partners. Bruce Grover was our MC for the night and Doug and Laura Smith started us off by sharing their story of how a mentor can change the trajectory of a young man’s life that will impact future generations. Our speaker, Jonathan Evans, was a huge hit and continued that theme of the importance of fathers. He inspired us to live a life that is measured by how we “serve the purposes of God” with great stories of how his dad, Dr. Tony Evans, impacted lives “around the table.” We were also excited to announce four huge announcements that we believe will change the way abortion is viewed in Allegheny County. The following changes and additions have been on our “wish” list for several years and thanks to your prayers and support have recently become a reality.

First, after 10 years in the Monroeville Mall, our Monroeville Center will be moving into a beautiful new office suite in the Corporate One Office building in November. The expansion in this new space gives our staff and clients additional security and privacy and allows us to offer more services during our open hours. The new address is Suite 100, Corporate One II, 4075 Monroeville Blvd.

We’ve been awarded a Federal reimbursement grant from the Health and Human Services Department for our Essential Speakers outreach in the public schools. This means that we have a bigger footprint in some of Pittsburgh’s neediest schools and are able to reach far more students than we ever imagined possible.

This past summer, we stepped out in faith and hired a male staff member, Alex, to lead our men’s and fatherhood programming. Alex was a WCN board member, is a new dad, and is passionate about engaging men who are part of an unexpected pregnancy. This is a dream we’ve had for many years and we are very excited about seeing transformation in the lives of young dads.

I’ve saved the best for last. The fourth big announcement is about our newest service called abortion pill reversal. You may be surprised to know that over 60% of all Pittsburgh abortions are performed using RU-486, known as the abortion pill. This method is heavily marketed as a safe, simple, and “forgettable” procedure. Not really a single pill, this protocol begins with one medication that starves the baby of vital progesterone. After three days, a woman takes the second medication (at home) which then expels the remains. This “at home” abortion takes place in secrecy and isolation. Many women experience immediate regret and a “buyer’s remorse” within minutes after taking the first pill. They search for answers online to “undo” what they have just done. Women’s Choice Network is the first center in Pittsburgh to provide a truly simple and safe protocol inside our centers adding progesterone back into her system that “reverses” the effects. We are able to care for this young mother and to offer rescue to her tiny baby. And nearly 67% of those using this protocol across the nation have delivered beautiful, healthy children. We’ll be aggressively promoting this service in 2020 and hope to rescue dozens of little lives while giving comfort to countless moms and dads. Your partnership literally makes these vital programs possible. Will you consider giving a Banquet gift today and join the family of support to build a network of Life? Thanks so much!
